As part of the global trip, we are immersing ourselves into some schools to build relationships in certain places and share with Valen and Carlos how different education can be in different places, which we hope will provide them with life perspectives and instill a sense of giving back.
In our preparations to go to other places, we have also learned some shocking lessons on how certain unscrupulous individuals use schools to build a business model using kids, who in turn, use the model….quite sad….which shapes our mindset in terms of how we can get involved without creating interference. This is particularly true for other countries of our trip (Cambodia, Laos, etc). Anyhow, this is no place to to elaborate on that but if you want to learn more, we can discuss offline.
We purposely keep this activity to ourselves but we will give you a sneak peek of a recent visit to one (happy) school we had access to thanks to an Indonesian friend.
